Eye exams at Spadina Optometry
Our eye exams go beyond a basic vision check. Each exam includes a full assessment of your eye health, clear explanations of findings, and guidance on what is recommended versus optional — so you can make informed decisions without pressure.

What it costs
The fee depends on your age and OHIP eligibility. Most patients with private insurance pay little or nothing out of pocket.
Adults
20 to 64
$198
Not covered by OHIP unless you have a qualifying medical condition (e.g. diabetes, glaucoma).
Seniors
65 and over
$118
OHIP covers the base exam every 18 months. The $118 fee covers comprehensive imaging and extended assessment.
Children & teens
Under 20
$98
OHIP covers the base exam annually. The $98 fee covers comprehensive imaging and extended assessment.
We will always explain any recommended testing and applicable fees upfront. See OHIP eligibility and insurance and pricing FAQ for details.
Insurance and direct billing
Most private vision plans cover part or all of the exam fee. We direct-bill major insurance carriers so you don't have to submit claims yourself. Bring your plan details and we will take care of the rest.
We accept 60+ insurance providers. Don't see yours? Contact us and we'll check.
