Dr. Jessica Melville, O.D.
Dr. Jessica Melville joined our optometric practice in the fall of 2013, since receiving her Doctor of Optometry from the University of Waterloo in 2013. She splits her time between a few locations here in Toronto. She is from London Ontario, but has lived in Toronto previously, and is happy to be back in the city she loves.
Dr. Melville completed her Bachelor of Science in Life Science at Queens University, and then went on to work in the pharmaceutical industry prior to attending optometry school. Working in pharmaceuticals afforded her the unique opportunity to gain an extensive background knowledge of eye diseases, which she built upon during her studies.
During her time as a student at Waterloo, Dr. Melville was able to complete an internship at St. Albans Veteran’s Affairs hospital in New York. Here she worked with a leading optometrist in glaucoma research and management. She also diagnosed and managed a variety of other ocular diseases, such as diabetic retinopathy and macular disorders. Dr. Melville’s clinical interests include ocular disease, paediatrics, and contact lenses. Dr. Melville is a member of the College of Optometrists of Ontario.
Appointments for current, existing and new patients available as soon as this week.
