How to cancel or reschedule
Contact the office by phone, text, or email and we will take care of it.
You do not need to give a reason, and there is no awkward conversation waiting for you. Plans change and schedules move — this is a normal part of running a clinic, not an imposition.
How much notice we need
Please give us at least 24 hours notice if you need to cancel or reschedule.
The reason we ask is straightforward: appointment slots are limited, and someone else is usually waiting to be seen. Notice lets us offer your time to another patient instead of leaving a doctor and a room sitting empty.
If you need to cancel on shorter notice than that, tell us anyway. Short notice is still much more useful than none — it gives us a chance to fill the slot. For same-day changes, call or text rather than emailing, since that reaches us faster.
Missed appointments
Missed appointments without notice may be subject to a cancellation fee.
If something genuinely went wrong — you were unwell, you were stuck, the day fell apart — tell us. We would far rather hear from you than not.
If you are unwell
If you are sick on the day of your appointment, let us know and we will move it. We would rather reschedule you than have you come in feeling terrible, and an eye exam is rarely the thing that cannot wait a week.
If your eye problem is the urgent thing — pain, an injury, a sudden change in vision — that is a different situation. Do not cancel and wait. See urgent eye problems and call us.
